Hancock Heads to Project Soapbox!

Six Hancock students participated in the citywide Mikva Project Soapbox speech competition with lots of student and parent support. Project Soapbox is Mikva Challenge’s public speaking program that calls young people to speak out on issues that affect them and their communities.

These powerful speeches have lasting, transformative impacts on classrooms, schools, and communities. Students have a chance to meet and talk to community partners about the issues that matter to them and share speeches with other students from across the city.

Please congratulate Susana Sanchez, Sebastian Rodea, Fernanda Portales, Elena Jarm, Isabel Gandarilla, and Julia Zaragoza for their speech on important topics like mental health, immigration, child poverty, book bans, and drug addiction. They represented Hancock well!
