Chicago Builds is the program for you.
Chicago Builds is a citywide, up to two-year secondary enrollment construction training program for rising 11th and 12th grade CPS students (current 10th and 11th grade) interested in pursuing a career in construction after graduating high school.
Chicago Builds is an IL Works Pre-Apprenticeship Program Site and offers the Master Builder program with City Colleges of Chicago. Participants will attend classes at the Chicago Builds location for part of the school day and receive technical training in Carpentry, Electricity, Heating and Cooling (HVAC), Welding, and General Construction.
- Chicago Builds is currently accepting applications for the school year 2025-2026.
- Deadline for submitting an application: June 2, 2025
- Notice about acceptance into the program: June 2025 or sooner
- Program Start Date: August 18, 2025
- Program End Date: June 4, 2026
- Students will be notified of a decision by June 2025 or sooner.
