Cluster Program Information
The Cluster Program at Hancock High School is dedicated to fostering functional skills that increase student independence. We offer a range of job development programs, including Brew Crew, our cafe delivery service, and Plant Posse, where students gain hands-on experience maintaining indoor plants throughout the school. Community-Based Instruction is a key component of our curriculum, allowing students to practice functional skills in the classroom and then apply them in real-world settings. Hancock embraces an inclusive learning environment where students participate in adapted physical education, helping prepare our Special Olympic team, and engage in the adapted EPIC course, where they grow fresh produce using a hydroponic system. All programmed elective courses for our students in the cluster program are integrated with their general education peers. Our students also explore technology through robotics and coding with tools like the Sphero. To support sensory needs, we provide a calming sensory room, ensuring students can regulate their emotions and prepare for learning. Additionally, we collaborate with partners such as Access Living and Special Children's Charities to offer enriching experiences like music therapy. In addition to outside organizations, our staff works collaboratively with our clinician team to ensure students are receiving the support they need. At Hancock, we are committed to creating a supportive and dynamic educational experience for our students with low incidence disabilities.
